While buying organic produce is best, that isn’t always an option. I keep a bottle of this fruit & veggie wash underneath the kitchen sink to use on all my produce. This is a very easy to make recipe so ditch the veggie wash you see available to buy in the store.
There are a couple different ways to use this recipe:
- Mix all ingredients in a amber spray bottle and it is ready to use. Rinse your produce and spray directly on. Let sit 5-10 minutes. This will give time to break down the chemicals while also removing bad bacteria, germs, etc. Rinse off and you’re good to go.
- If you have a lot of produce to wash, fill the sink with water and add the solution directly to it. Soak produce for 15-20 minutes.
Other Notes:
- This is the grapefruit seed extract I use.
- If you don’t have grapefruit seed extract, you can use lemon, orange, or grapefruit essential oil. I source my essential oils HERE.
