When your closest raw juice bar is 45 minutes away, you make it at home! And if you’re like me, you had to chose between investing in a high-powered blender or juicer. (I opted for the blender.) So today I am showing you how to make fresh juice in your blender! Super easy!
Throw all your ingredients in your blender, (I have this one) add a little water, blend well, strain through a nut milk bag and viola!
Now when you use a juicer, no water is added. With a blender, you may need a little to help begin the blending process.
I get asked often: “smoothies or juice, which one is better?”
I don’t feel like it is a black and white answer. Smoothies are wonderful way to get in so many good nutrients. I also like smoothies because you are using the whole fruit/vegetable and getting all the fiber that most of us are lacking! Juicing is a great way to zap your body with pure nutrients, detoxify and get your digestive system a little break. When you juice, use mostly vegetables and low sugar fruits. This will help prevent a blood sugar crash, as juice is absorbed quickly.
Now for my favorite green juice recipe: greens, cucumber, celery, lemon, green apple, mint & ginger. This is a great drink when you’re needing to “reset” your body, soak up extra nutrients and flush out toxins.
